Lately

We started Atley on Cereal last week. He seems to enjoy it and I know he will love when he starts vegetables and fruit.

The cutest little brother ever!

Halloween

Halloween is my least favorite so we don't really ever do much. This year Jake wanted to dress as batman and little Atley wore Jake's lion outfit from his first Halloween. Atley didn't enjoy the outfit as much as Jake did. He wore it long enough to get a few pictures and was done. We took the kids out to the Retirement Center my grandma lives in to trick or treat. A few of the residents had candy to give out. They loaded up on candy and the residents enjoyed the company! After that we headed to the house and Jake handed out our candy. It's crazy to see so many older kids and adults who trick or treat. It's hard to enjoy giving out candy when they clearly shouldn't be asking for it! After we ran out Jake trick or treated at a couple of our neighbors and then we called it a night. I love that he's so laid back and wasn't into getting a ton of candy. He's such a sweetheart. Plus little brother was not in the mood to go around to a ton of houses.

Kindergarten

It's hard to believe Jake's old enough for Kindergarten. My heart broke knowing he was going to school all day. I pinned this poem and it pretty much sums up all my feelings!
He is enjoying it so much and looks forward to going to school everyday. That has made the transition easier on me. We switched him to a private school in Enid. It's nice not having to drive him out of town everyday but still sad that we didn't return to Hillsdale. His new school requires them to wear khakis or blue dress pants with a solid color polo shirt. On Wednesday's they wear their chapel uniform. It's nice not having to worry about what they will wear everyday and nice that they all match! Jake gets tired of wearing the same stuff and not getting to wear normal clothes as he calls it!

It's hard to believe Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. This year is flying by. Hopefully Christmas break goes slow so I can enjoy some down time with my boys!

Vacation

So taking an 8 week old baby and a 5 year old in a car to Florida isn't the smartest choice I've made. But hey that's part of being a parent. We live and learn. I actually think the kids survived the drive better than I did! It's hard being trapped in a car for that long. I drove a lot of the way so that helped break up the time. If and when we go back..we will for sure not be going in July. It was beyond hot. I spent most of my day in our condo keeping atley cool while the rest of the family enjoyed disney world. I did get to enjoy disney world in the late afternoon/evening time. It was just as magical as I expected! The kids had a blast and I cannot wait to take Jake back again. I feel horrible I hardly took any pictures and the ones I took were with my phone. I don't know why I even bothered packing my camera!

Snow White

Jake is obsessed with gators..Thankfully this is the only one we saw the whole trip

I am so thankful for my parents who took our family on this vacation. They went above and beyond. My kids are so blessed to call them Grana & Papa.

Atley

Jake is finally a big brother. We welcomed our new bundle of Joy on May 14th. Atley has been such a blessing to us. We are so in love with him. Most of all Jake. Him and Atley are already the best of friends. I can't wait to see them grow up together!

Brothers

We have a lot of crying pics!

I wish I could say it was an easy transition adding another baby. But lets be real...it's not. It was a rough few weeks for Jake to adjust to having a sibling. After a lot of tears shed (by me) and lots of prayer, we I survived. It's so hard no matter what age they are, to understand that a baby requires so much of mommy's time and attention. Jake has been a huge help to me. Sometimes a little too much! Now all he talks about it having another brother so there can be 3 of them! Ha- Don't think that is going to happen anytime soon! I am so blessed and thankful God chose me to be the mom to these sweeties.
